East Tower, called the "White" Tower was built in the years 1832-1844 on the eastern edge of the southern wing of the barracks. Contrary to the "Tatar" Tower this one was plastered. The tower played two important roles - as a observatory and a defence. The observatory post was to observe the interior of the barracks courtyard.
In the annex of the front wall of the lower terrace there were six artillery axis placed. They were directed toward the front of the bridge leading to Nowy Dwór Maz. Still there are three pairs of windows in the side of the courtyard.
The tower is 29 meters high counting from the ground of the to the higher terrace. together with the annex it is even 31.6 meters high.
