The Duke Józef Ponieatowski Gate
, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki

The gate was built in 1836 in the aim of making it possible for a few thousand of the crew people to get out of the fortress area from the barracks. During the Russian period it was called the "Michajłowskie" Door. Since 1918 it has been called "Duke Józef Poniatowski Gate". The gate has a classical architectural design. From the southern side its architecture was enriched by Tuscan columns.
In the past there was a wooden bridge standing on brick pillars, which led to the gate over the moat. However, the pillars were pulled down after World War II.
