The Monument of the Modlin Defenders
, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki

To commemorate the heroic fights there was a monument of the Modlin Defenders of September 1939 risen. The Modlin defence commander from the year 1939, General of the brigade Wiktor Thommee unveiled the monument in the presence of the numerous of "September"soldiers. The ceremony took place on 29th September 1957. The date was the anniversary of the Modlin Fortress capitulation. The initiative of rising such a monument came from the command of the 15th bomb divisions. Two Russian cannon guns were adjusted to the monument.
The monument rose civil at the place of the monument of the marshal Józef Piłsudski, which was unveiled in 1928. Nowadays, at the monument there are ceremonies with the participation of civil and military authorities commemorating the Modlin defenders.
